Naganathaswamy Nagore is part of a group of 4 temples where the great serpent Aadhisesha worshiped Shiva on Maha Shivaratri – Nageswara Swami Temple Kumbakonam, Nageswara Swami Temple at Thiru Nageswaram, Seshapureeswarar Temple and Naganatha Swami Temple, Nagore to rid himself of a curse from a Brahmin whose child he had killed. Naganathaswamy Nagore is also considered a Raghu, Kethu Sthalam.
