The location of the temple is beautiful with green fields on one side. The entrance is through a gate in the south. The surroundings are overgrown with weeds. The name of the Lord is not mentioned anywhere and the locals also call it just Easwaran Temple. A bit of searching for information revealed the name.

Putridankondeeswarar Sirunkundram is an ancient temple from the looks of the Vimaanam, but it has been recently refurbished with concrete structures. No historic information is available as on date.

Legend

No information, but we assume the Lingam should have been discovered in a Snake Mound (Putru) and hence the name.
