Abhimukteeswarar Nemili is a small and ancient temple. The east facing temple does not have a compound wall but is protected and regularly worshiped. The Vimaana seems to be a variation of the Gajaprashta Vimaana, but is much smaller and less grand. On the two sides of the entrance to the Goddess’s shrine are idols of Harabadra and Subadra.

History

Agnipureeswarar Vazhavadur is an ancient temple which was completely lost over time. A photograph of the old temple is seen in the temple. Contributions and participation from a few people including a mill owner has resulted in the temple regaining its lost glory.
