Somanatheeswarar Vellikaram is an ancient temple dating back to Rajasimha Pallava (Narasimha Pallava II) period. The Lingam is in Pallava style with 16 bands.
Somanatheeswarar Vellikaram is 4 kms from Pallipattu in the Pallipattu- Ramakrishnarajupet Road. Take a right before the river bridge and proceed for 2 kms to reach Somanatheeswarar Vellikaram at the base of the hill. You have to climb up on foot for the Muruga footprint temple.
