Venugopalaswamy Thally is an ancient east facing temple. The main sanctum is dilapidated and is declared unsafe. The goddess shrine is on the right as you face the main sanctum. At the right as you enter is a small shrine for a slab carved Anjaneya who is facing south. At the entrance to main sanctum on either side are Ganesha and Anjaneya in small niches. The locals are building new sanctums for the main deities right behind the existing old structures since permission was not granted to demolish them. The temple has an old temple car which is kept east of the temple across the road.

Venugopalaswamy Thally is an old temple that could be a few hundred years old. This is evident from the Vimaanam and some of the carvings on the sanctum sanctorum. No historical information is available as on date.

Venugopalaswamy Thally is about 30 kms southwest of Hosur. Thally is a wonderful place with good climate, nicknamed ‘Little England’. It is also possible to reach Thally froa m Krishnagiri via Rayakottai. The Thally lake is opposite the temple and is nice place to take a walk to. Gangadeeswara, Anjaneya and an Amman shrine are there on its banks. Visit the Kailasanathar temple also further up Venugopalaswamy Thally.
